32 Team Keeper League

A month has passed and by a vote of 6 (yes) to 2 (no) it looks like we will be increasing our keepers this off-season from 4 to 6.

I am a big soda drinker and long story short I will have many MLB hats from Pepsi`s `Caps for Caps` promotion and I would like to give every league member a hat.

If you want a hat please post your Name, address, and phone number along with the MLB team you would like in the message board.

For league members with two members in one household please give one address per person because Pepsi will only send one hat per residence.

Please make payment as soon as possible. If you want to play for the cash prize please send your payment before April 18th.

I was also thinking we should add a few categories to avoid ties.

To keep an odd number of categories, and still keep pitching and hitting even, we could add two categories for hitters (Errors and On Base Percentage) and three categories for pitchers (Complete Games, Shutouts, and Holds).

MLB.com definition of a hold:

The `Hold`:
The hold was created as a way to credit middle relief pitchers for a job well done. Starting pitchers get wins, and closers -- the relief pitchers who come in at the end of the game -- get saves, but the guys who pitch in between the two rarely get either statistic. So what`s the most important thing one of these middle relievers can do? `Hold` a lead. If a reliever comes into a game to protect a lead, gets at least one out and leaves without giving up that lead, he gets a hold. But you can`t get a save and a hold at the same time.

I always wanted to find a way to include all pitchers on a big league roster in fantasy baseball and adding the category `holds` is a way to do it.

2009 Recap:

Tylers team, Charlie Hustle and Flow, is the back to back League Champion. He defeated Dana`s M&M Boys 10-8 over the two week period.

The division champions for 2009 are:

Minnesota: Tyler (Charlie Hustle and Flow)

Wisconsin: Co Champions (Both finished with a 110-102 record) Dana (M&M Boys) and Will (TBagging Faces).

Both teams will receive division champion trophies.

Each team has the rights to these players for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons.

If you would like to hold the rights to this player past the 2011 season you will need to add him to your annual four keepers at seasons end.

The player each team drafts in the 16th round of this year (2010) will have his rights held for the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons.

The player we each draft in the 16th round next year (2011) will have his rights held for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 seasons.

I added a second `Farm Player` roster spot to each teams roster. I also added our 16th round keeper from last year to everyone`s roster.

Next year we will add another 16th round keeper so we will have three `Farm Player` roster spots.

You can utilize your additional two `Farm Players` (three `Farms Players` for the 2011 season and beyond) any way you would like.

I will note that if you release one of your 16th round keepers and another team picks him up, that team may claim your 16th round keeper and use him during the regular season and the new team may even claim him as a four player keeper at seasons end.

Therefore you would forfeit your 16th round keeper rights until you are able to acquire that player again. But if you are able to pick up that player again (waivers, trade ect.) you can still claim him as a 16th round keeper as long as it is within the five year period after he was drafted in the 16th round.

All new teams this season will be allowed to pick up a player after the draft and claim him for two more seasons as a 16th roung keeper because they did not have one last season.

FSB Keeper League Information and Rules:

Trophies and Cash Prizes: Each season FSB Keeper League will award trophies to the two division champions (Minnesota and Wisconsin) and the National Conference Champion. That is a total of 3 trophies for each season.

Each Division winner will be awarded free team membership for the following season.

Scoring: The league is scored head-to-head in a 6X7 format on a weekly basis. The scoring categories include; Batting Average, Home Runs, RBI, Runs, OBP, Stolen Bases, Errors, ERA, WHIP, Wins, Saves, Holds, Complete Games, Shutouts, and Strikeouts.

Setting Weekly Roster:Rosters are set weekly. The deadline to set your weekly roster is every Monday at 12am CST.

Regular Season Scheduling:
During the 2010 season each team plays every team in their division four times, and every inter-division team three times. The top two teams in each division make the playoffs, with the other four teams playing for the toilet bowl trophy.

The team with the best record in each division after the 21 game schedule will be crowned division champion and awarded a division champion trophy.

Playoffs: After the 21 game regular season the top two teams in each division will advance to the league playoffs.

In the Championship Bracket, the teams with the top two records in each division will play each other in the first round of the playoffs.

The winners of the two first round games will advance to the National Conference Championship Two Week Final. The scores of the two weeks will be combined and a National Conference Champion will be crowned. The National Conference trophy will display the name of every past Conference Champion and passed on to the new champion from season to season.

The bottom two teams in each division will advance to the toilet bowl. The 3rd place finisher in each division after the 21 game regular season will play the 4th place finisher in each division in round one of the toilet bowl championship. The two toilet bowl round one winners will play for the toilet bowl championship the 2nd and 3rd week of the toilet bowl playoffs.

The draft order for the bottom four teams in the standings will be based on regular season records. Not the Toilet Bowl Tournament.

This will help prevent teams from tanking in the toilet bowl from draft pick purposes.

Keeper Players: Each team will be allowed to keep any 4 baseball players on its roster from year to year. Keepers are posted at the leagues official message board during the offseason.

The player each team drafts in the 16th round of any draft will have his rights held for the following three seasons.

Roster Size: Each team consists of a 20 man roster, and a two farm players (three farm players 2011 and beyond).

Farm Player: Any player could be added to the farm for any reason (injured, development), and another player could be picked up in his place. But if you release one of your 16th round keepers another team may claim him.

Starting Lineup: The 16 players starting lineup consist of; 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, C, 3 OF, UTL, 5 SP, 2 P (SP/RP). Rosters are set on a weekly basis and are due no later than Monday at 10am Central Time. If rosters are not set by this time the previous weeks roster will be submitted.

Tie Breakers: Playoff and regular season tie breakers are as followed: First, Division winning percentage, second, head to head match ups, third, year to date (YTD) points, fourth ERA, and last Batting Average.

Trading: Trades have a 48 hour review period. Once a trade is submitted and e-mails are sent out to league members, the trade cannot be declined by the two parties who have agreed upon the trade. Agreed trades that are cancelled within the two day review period by one of the two parties will still be processed. The only way a trade can be declined is if four fellow league members e-mail the league to notify that they believe the trade is unfair.

Draft picks can also be traded.

Waivers: Dropped players will be placed on waivers for 24 hours. A worst to first waiver right format exists. The team with the worst record in the league will have the waiver rights; second worst record has second priority, and so on.

Free Agents: Free agent pickups are unlimited, without waiver priority.

Eligibility: A Player must play one game at particular position to be to qualify for that position. The position must be played at least once in the current or previous season.

Drafting: Every other draft after the inaugural draft will be a 16 round draft, with the worst team in the conference having the first pick in each round (1-8 then 1-8).

Two very important things to remember that regard the draft.

First, pre-rank your players. Go to �Rank Player� after you have logged into your team. It is very important to rank players by overall want, then by position. This needs to be done.

Second, it is important to adjust your draft setting. First click �Enter Draft� after you have logged into your team, then click �Draft Settings�. Choose either �I WILL PICK� or �COMPUTER PICK�. Select �I WILL PICK� If you can`t make the live draft. Select �COMPUTER PICK�. Again make sure your players are pre-ranked, because if you miss the draft this is the order your players will be selected in. This should be done at least two weeks before the draft.
